Pat Walsh started his career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1984. He served as a custody and patrol deputy and worked, patrol, gangs, narcotics and was a Field Training Officer.
In 1991 he moved to the Pacific Northwest where he worked for the Portland Police Bureau for 22.5 years. Pat worked patrol, narcotics, several federal gun and narcotics task forces. He was the Adjutant to two Police Chiefs, Executive Officer, Liaison to the United States Department of Justice coordinating a Settlement Agreement. He created the Office of Accountability and Professional Standards for the Portland Police which audits all aspects of the Department from use of force, lawsuits, directed/predictive patrol, and community engagement.
In 2014 Pat became the Police Chief of the Lompoc, California Police Department. In this role Pat was a change agent and brought needed change, training, and professionalism to the Lompoc Police.
In April 2019 Walsh was selected to be the first police chief of the Menifee Police department. In this role Chief Walsh had the unique opportunity to create a police department from the ground up. This build included remodeling a building, conducting a hiring campaign, purchasing all necessary vehicles, equipment, setting policy and most importantly, creating culture.
